The first Quilt Exhibition in Bungendore was held in 2006 in the Bungendore War Memorial Hall. It was co-ordinated and exhibited by Sheryl-Ann and Roy Schaefer with the assistance of friends. They held another ehixibition the following year but due to the success of it, realised that if they were to continue, a group had to form and so Bungendore Quilters Inc was established in 2008. Since then, Bungendore Quilters has held an annual quilt exhibition every year, excepting the two Covid years of 2020 and 2021.

Bungendore Quilters is made up of a diverse, eclectic group of quilters, embroiderers, sewers - in fact anyone who enjoys textile arts is welcome to join. We have General Meetings and Sew and Chats and dates for our get-togethers can be found on our Meetings page. Our main event for the year is our Annual Quilt Exhibition which is always held during the fourth weekend in November. This coincides with our annual raffle to raise funds for the quilt event and gift quilts which our members undertake during the year.

We are always looking for new members! Visitors are more than welcome to come to our meetings which are short and enjoyable and much more fun than meetings you are used to! If you are a local, hopefully you will consider joining our group but we have many members from far and wide such as Queanbeyan, Canberra, Dalmeny, Goulburn, Griffith, Lake Conjola and Wollongong. Our current Membership form can be downloaded from here. Please email it or pop it in the post or better still, come along to our next meeting and meet some of our members. If you are coming along for the first time, please email our Secretary, Jo, to let her know you are coming.
